Centerton Community Center + Indoor Aquatics
Sapp Design Architects, in partnership with WER Architects, is proud to help bring the City of Centerton’s vision for a vibrant, recreation center to life. The new 36,500-square-foot multi-purpose recreation center is thoughtfully designed to serve residents of all ages, promoting wellness, connection, and a strong sense of community.
The facility features a full aquatics area with a swimming pool, dedicated party rooms for celebrations and gatherings, a child watch room to support busy parents, and a flexible community room for programs and events. Additional amenities include locker rooms, administrative offices, a gymnasium, and an exercise studio for group fitness classes. On the second level, an open-air indoor walking track provides elevated views into the gym below and connects seamlessly to cardio and weight training zones—creating an inviting, dynamic environment for users to meet their fitness goals.
The new facility engages with Centerton’s past as the ‘apple capital of the world’ by setting the building in an orchard of trees. The building forms were further inspired by the city’s agricultural roots, illustrating a concept of ‘addition over time’ to the structure as the needs of the community grows.
The site itself has been master planned to support long-term recreational development, with future phases accommodating an outdoor aquatics facility, walking trails, pickleball and tennis courts, and a future indoor competition swimming pool—ensuring that this center remains a cornerstone of healthy, connected living for generations to come.
