Center for Advanced Agricultural & Transportation Technology
The Center for Advanced Agricultural & Transportation Technology will be a new 67,000 sf building on the State Fair Community College campus. This facility will be a significant upgrade to the current Auto-tech facility for the college as well as the CTC program for area high school students. The new facility will also provide space for the new Agricultural Mechanic Shop and have planned expansion for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Program. The facility will include classrooms, offices, program support areas, and a small student lounge area. A portion of the classrooms will be designed as a tornado safe room to house the occupants of the building in case of severe weather.
The building is designed as a simple pre-engineered metal building structure to provide an economical and open plan for the shop areas, with added aesthetic elements on the exterior to help blend into the campus environment. An entry plaza will provide a pedestrian path connection to the rest of campus, while adjacent parking will accommodate students and faculty. The building will be furnished with the latest automotive tools and equipment to help train students to be workforce ready.
This project is the next phase of new construction and renovations on the college campus to expand and upgrade their extensive workforce development programs.
