Lumber Yard to Career Center

Waynesville Career Center is part of the Waynesville R-VI School District and also serves St. Roberts, Ft. Leonard Wood, and seven area high schools.  This project included renovations and additions to turn an existing 63,000 s.f. lumber yard facility into a new 137,100 s.f. State-of-the-Art Career Center for the Waynesville R-VI School District.

The design utilized the existing structure by converting the showroom into the core administration area, which includes a 1-1/2 story commons area.

The main entrance, administration offices, culinary arts program (and cafe), library, and meeting room is now available for use by the community and area organizations. The warehouse was easily converted into the Industrial Arts Shop wing.  A 2-story, 36,000 s.f.  addition was added to the front of the existing structure to house other career programs such as Marketing, Health Sciences, Practical Nursing, Graphic Print Shop, Cosmetology, and Fine Arts programs.
